HOSPITAL SUPPLIES Stocks Here But No Money

To the Editor of the "Mobrh-CumA Dany NEWS"

Gm,—I read in your yesterday's issue that Medical Supplies are rushed by aeroplane and steamer from London to China.

This is a waste of time and money, because I have definite knowledge that part of the goods sent out are immediately available from stocks in Shanghai.

It is a lack of funds, not a scarcity of supplies that prevents many hospitals from purchasing even those supplies which can be obtained on the spot.

If the China Campaign Committee hat been aware of these facts they could have used part of the funds in their hands to much better purpose by remitting them to China by cable.

If this had been done local hospitals could immediately acquire the available local stocks, instead of waiting for weeks and months for the arrival of supplies.

Besides the legitimate trade would benefit from such procedure, a point which should not be overlooked at the present time, when business is at very low ebb.
