"Too Wonderful"

"As the mother lay on he white bed several days late Dr. Lawney, "she told us it seemed as if she must be in heaven. The peace and quiet of the hospital after what she had gone through was almost too wonderful to be true!"

Soon after the maternity division was established it became apparent that it was necessary to establish all departments of the hospital in a larger place, and the hospital buildings of the former Orthopoedic Hospital, 850 Route de Zikawei, have now been rented for this purpose. The usual out-patient service has been restored, and in addition 75 inpatients can be catered for.

As at present constituted, therefore, the organization calls for a continuation of the maternity work of the refugee camps, on the same basis as before, and furthermore receives its usual patients in all branches of service. In the coming months, Dr. Lawney said, the service to the poor and the homeless will take up the greater part of its work. Unfortunately, the hospital cannot do this on its own resources, and it therefore looks to friends and well-wishers for help so that the Margaret Williamson Hospital may be used to the fullest possible extent in the present emergency.

'Each patient that has come to us," she concluded, "has gone through' things she wants to forget and the quiet comfort received at the hospital makes them for ever grateful to those whose contributions have made ihis work possible."
