Dissolution of Currency Reserve Board Branch Hongkong; Feb. 10

The proposal for the dissolution of the Tienfin branch of the Currency Reserve Board, as reported in news dispatches, was denounced today by Dr. H. H. Kung, President of the Executive Yuan, a Visitor in the Colony.

The branch could not be dissolved because it was duly constituted by law and its members were appointed the head of the Board, Dr. Kung said.

Referring to the report that the Peiping regime had proposed to establish a "silver custody commission" to replace the Board and was seeking a loan of $12,000,000 from the commission against shares of the "so-called central bank," Dr. Kung said that the silver held by the Board could not be disposed of in any way because it was held by the Board in behalf of the people.

Any party seeking access to the silver, Dr. Kung said, is a public enemy and will not be tolerated by the law of the land.—United Press.
