James Christie, the lieutenant-colonel who was deprived of his ra his D.S.O. and his O.B.E. because his gun-running exploits in China, is going back to China to fight against Japan—at the age of sixty-three.
He was freed on Saturday February 5 from the twelve-month prison sentence passed on him last April for fraud, states the "Daily Express."
His wife said: "He will leave for China in a few weeks. Life will start over again for him amid his old friends there.
He has the money to make a new start, because, soon after his arrest, a large sum of money arrived for him in settlement of an airplane deal in which he was concerned.
He is going to China at the invitation of the Chinese authorities. It also happens to coincide with his own inclination."
