Willing to Take Risks most — To Get Home Again

Ney York, Feb, 1.

Immigration officials state that the crew of the liner Columbus, which was scuttled to escape capture by a British destroyer, are still interned on Angel Island, San Francisco, Thus the report that 500 members of the crew have sailed abroad in Japanese fishing boats is denied.

Rumours, however, are current that a plan exists to divide the sailors into small units and scatter them along the coast and then quietly put them aboard Japanese ships. The sailors themselves say they are willing to try a hazardous voyage in order to get home.—Reuter.
