Shanghai Power

Apology, from Shareholder

To the Editor of the \"Norta+Cuma Dai News"

1 want.

As to your advice to me to give up my ideas—I consider them too clean and too pure to do be; I leave that to the impartial and I am still waiting for the sun to shine. 1 am moi ah ultramontane, either a traditionalist by system or a revolutionary by style. I am glad to live in the twentieth century, I believe in progress, I love freedom, and I hope that the Spaniards will achieve their ends and see the fulfilment of their ideals, peace, harmony and justice, for which they have longed. But nobody and no arguments will convince me that I am under the obligation to pull the car of any dictator who, with talent, fortune, or by force, may propagate his doctrines, receiving for it universal renown, You should understand that my patriotism does not allow me to reply to you, in a foreign country, in the manner you wish me to do. That is the reason why, without encomium or emphasis, I reply to you as I do, and this should be to you a little sign of Spanish civilization. As for "They shall not pass"—dear IMPARTI ALITY these words don't make everyone laugh, and for those that laugh at them, let me remind them of what everybody knows, "He who laughs last, laughs best."

This is my dynamite—theretore there is no reason for you to hide your real name, as I don't doubt that you, with your wisdom, will manage io be always on the laughing side, as you see it, with your impartiality.

And to conclude, being what I am, I love to see my modest table adorned only with plain "black and green" Spanish olives, accompanied with "red Spanish pimentoes," leaving to you the luxury of "German wines, Italian vermouth, and Russian caviar" etc.

Sm,—My apologies are due to the Shanghai Power Ca. for having overlooked their announcement, which I find appeared in your columns on March 19.

Usually, I think the notice is published about the middle of the month, the last two having appeared September 14 and December 14, 1987, These are the reasons why I shall always be a proud Spanish Red.
