Sweden Beat Finland 2-1
At Charity Hockey Stockholm, Feb, 11.
With all receipts going into the coffers of the Finnish Red Cross, Sweden and Finland played an ice hockey match here today before a huge crowd of spectators among whom were King Gustaf V, Crown Prince Gustaf Adolph and Prince Charles The crown prince acted as patron on the occasion of this charity game, admission prices for which were specially raised.
Sweden finally won, two goals to one, after a thrilling match. The crowd cheered more for the Finnish players than for the victors, however.
At the end, all spectators rose as one man and sang the famous psalm, "The Lord is an Invincible Fortress," which King Gustaf Adolph of old made his anthem during the Thirty Years War.—Havas.
