Filipinos No Match for the Eagles

The Reds team of the Fourth Regiment, U.S. Marine Corps, failed to withstand the crafty Buccaneers in last night's play at the Foreign Y. M. C. A. Invitation Basketball League and lost to the defending champions by a score of 24-26. This defeat eyentually put the "righting Fourth" out of the running for this year's title race, since they lit previously fallen victims to the M..rine officers by 23-21 on Tuesday.

Tight defensive play featured last night's encounter. The Buccaneers employed the man-to-man system while the Marines adopted the five-man zone formation. During the first twenty minutes, the score was held down te the lowest ever seen on the "Y" floor since the league began in 1009. It ended with the leathernecks netting eight points (three field goals and two foul shots) and the ultimate winners six (one basket from the feld and three free tosses). Ryan was the only person to counter for the "Y" outfit.
