Lucky Loretta

Marlene Dietrich will have an interesting experience in her private life, and Loretta Young will be one of the year's luckiest film stars. More misfortune is in store for William Powell heartbroken after the death of Jean Harlow.

Already the words of this glowing-eyed woman, who seems to have access to the sealed books of Fate, have started coming true in 1938. Boriska's prophecy about misfortune for William Powell was announced in January. Recently Powell underwent an internal operation.

Here are some past prophecies by Boriska Silbiger concerning events that attracted the attention of the world: In 1933 she foretold that during the following year a king whose name began with A would die and that in the same year a Nazi leader would be murdered by /his closest friends, who would turn out to be his deadliest enemies.

She was Right Boriska said in 1934 that a war would break out in 1935 between Italy and a country which did not use the Latin alphabet.

In 1930 she foretold that the Nazi Party, with Hitler as leader, would come io power in Germany three years later.

And here is what happened: In 1934 King Alexander of Jugoslavia was assassinated. Stormtrooper Roehm, formerly one of Hitlers closest friends, was killed after being charged with conspiracy—slain by his friends. In 1935 the Italo-Abyssinian war broke out. Abyssinia does not use the Latin alphabet. Hitler became Dictator of Germany after the triumphant Nazi putsch in 1933.

A mad chimpanzee forced the bars of its cage at Liverpool Zoo recently and, after an exciting chase, was shot down from a roof by keepers and killed after being wounded six times, states the "Daily Telegraph and Morning Post."

During the chimpanzee's brief period of freedom it: leaped among children who were drilling in a school yard; attacked a boy and girl before being driven off by a master; ran down a street pursued by keepers and police; and climbed a drain pipe to the roof of a house.

We notice by the Straits papers that a movement is on foot to form a Volunteer corps at Singapore. The "L. & C. Express" understands that Mr. A. S. Harvey, of the China Consular Service, whose health is now re-established, is keeping the remainder of the term necessary for his call to the Bar. He will probably leave for China in' July.

One of those who took part in the chase told me that the chimpanzee ran to the keepers' house immediately it escaped. Mr. George Wardle, the Zoo manager, saw it, and gave the alarm. Mr. Wardle attempted to grapple with the animal, and was scratched and bitten. All available keepers then joined in the hunt, several carrying revolvers. way USE ear
