A statement was issued yesterday evening by Prince Konoye announcing that he would shortly resume his duties as- Prime Minister, following his recent illness.
The announcement was made apparently as an indication that the Genro, Prince Saionji, would not be made to assume the responsibility of dealing with the current political imbroglio.
The statement was also taken to indicate that the visit to Prince Saionji by Marquis Kido, the Minister of Education, on April 21, would be reduced merely to a formal courtesy call. It had been believed that the forthcoming visit might be for the purpose of finding a n to the present internal political situation.
