Foreign Minister SPECIAL TO

Li, Apr. 19.

Siam has no secret undesstaading with Japan, in fact her treaty rela tions with Japan are more restrictive in some respects than those with Britain, declares Luang Pradit, the Foreign Minister of Siam, in an interview published in the "Daily Telegraph" today.

The recent Japane-Siamese Treaty, he is quoted as saying, was solely concerned with the establishment of Siam's sovereignty over her own domal:

"It contains no secret clauses, We have made no promises. We have no understanding with Japan obligug us to any kind of mutual assistance." Luang Pradit is quoted as adding.

"In some respects the Japano-Siamese treaty is more restrictive than our treaty with Britain. Japanese are barred from owning land in Siam, while there are no restrictions whatsoever on British ownership of land.

Britain, Siam has a trusted friend. Englishmen have contributed the most valuable share to the modernization of Siam. British domains abutting on Siam have maintained good neighbour ly relations with us for many years, "In the matter of her foreign and financial operations Siam keeps in close touch with London."—Reuter.
