That Old Fool

When Tunstall appeared in the dock la the afternoon Judge Beazley asked Mrs. Tunstall to repeat what her husband was alleged to have said when she served the order on him.

She replied: "He said that he did not care about that old fool Beazley."

The judge smiled.

Miss Gladys Crook, the principal of the school. said it came to her knowledge that when Tunstall was leaving the school he stopped a young man in Air Force uniform and inquired about the nearest place where he could charter a private aeroplane.

Tunstall, in the witness-box, said that he went to the school to bid the child good-bye, as he was due to sail at midnight yesterday, and would not return for d long time.

I had brought this girl up to be a Roman Catholic. he continued. I found that a golden crucifix which I had given to her had been confiscated, that her rosary and prayer-book had been taken away, and that she had been admitted to a non-sectarian school as a Church of England child.
