Coming Back "Bigger and Better Than Ever"
Washington, Apr. 29.
The: Federal Maritime Commission announced today that it had heard of no move by the Dollar Steamship Line to dispose of Rib. properties in the Far East and discontinue trans-
Pacific service.
Earlier rumours had stated that the Dollar Line planned to withdraw from the Far East, but the FMC said such action was impossible.
'A spokesman for the Dollar Line in San Francisco laughed at the rumour, remarking: "The Dollar Line is going into the Far Eastern business bigger and better than ever."
Informed circles here said the F.M.C. for the past two months had been intensively studying possible rehabilitation of the Dollar Line, which admittedly is in financial difficulties. Official circles said that whatever action the F.M.C. might take, trans-Pacific service by the Dollar Line was certain to be maintained.—United Press.
