No Comparison With 1931 Manchuria War, Síresses Japanese Counsellor

There are many different problems in connection with the present China incident which prevent its termination as quickly as the Manchurian hostilities of 1931-32, Mr. Monte Morishima, newly appointed Counseller of the Japanese Embassy here, declared in a press interview yesterday. x "N is a mistake to think that rapid developments would take place in the Current incident such as those that marked the Manchurian incident," Mr. Morishima said.

"To name one of the fundamental differences between the two incidents, Manchuria was a single political unit controlled by Gen. Chang Tso-lin, the only warlord in the country. On the contrary, North China, comprising five provinces, cannot be compared with Manchuria in terms of political unity.

"Moreover, Manchuria was completely separated from the Nanking Government.

"In Manchuria there was the South Manchuria Railway taking an important part. in economic and political Gevelopments.
