Ca-operation Envisaged

Britain's plan will advocate Arab-Jewish ce-operation on a municipal and national plan spread over several stages which will form a transition period of at least five years and at most six years, according to the circumstances.

The fist stage will probably encompass Anglo-Arab-Jewish co-Operation materialized in advisory bodies attached to the various ministerial departments, whose actual direction, however, will be left more and more to the Arabs and Jews themselves.

Eventually complete autonomy will be proclaimed and a National Assembly, representing Arabs and Jews proportionally to the country's population, will be elected once the new regime is consolidated and peace wholly restored.

Authoritative quarters affirmed that the British Government would not Permit itself to be set back by boycotts or refusals to collaborate. The Government has received enough assurances from responsible elements in Palestine to envisage with confidence the successful application of its new policy.—Havas. I
