-Monday Closing Quotations New York, May 15.

The cotton market early advanced on trade buying, higher Bombay cables and the steadiness of May option. Later, however, a reaction set in on selling and liquidation and the easiness of southern and Liverpool advices, with traders inclined to keep to. the sidelines. Finally, with trading quiet and featureless, the market closed with losses ranging from 1 to 13 points, compared with the previous close.

The rubber market presented a dull and featüreless appearance. There was little in. the. news to affect the market either way, with chief interest centered on the' coming meeting of the Intermational Rubber Regulation Commit tomorrow. At the close, declines from 7 to 10 points were recorded.

The weakness of Winnipeg, reports of relief in parts of the wheat belt, profit taking and liquidation brought about a decline in the Chicago Wheat Pit after an initial advance. However, price changes were confined to a narrow range owing to the dryness prevailing in other portions of the belt. At the final bell, losses were from % to 1% cents.
