Hongkong, Feb. 7.
The fate of the Greek steamer Sparte, which disappeared on January 23 after leaving Hongkong for Amoy, was disclosed to-day, when the Norwegian master, Capt. Sonne, arrived here from Formosa.
The ship, he revealed, was seized by the Japanese (wo- hours after leaving Hongkong and was forced to proceed to Formosa, where he and his crew were imprisoned for fourteen days before being allowed to return to Hongkong.
The vessel, Capt. Sonne said, was being detained in Formosa—Reuter.
