Nanking's population to-day stands at about 150,000, the. "Shanghai Nippo" reported yesterday.
'The city has been divided by th' Peace Preservation Commission, for administrative purposes, into five These are: 1. District cast Taping, Palsha and Chunghwa Roads, where 69,000 people now reside; 2. Area west of Chunghwa "and Chusheng Roads and south of Hansi Road, with 60,000. inhabitants; district "east of Chungshan " Road where 8,000 people live; 4. 'The called Safety Zone, whose -population now reaches' 15,000; and Area outside the walled city and Hsiakwan, whose population was put by the daily at 2,000.
