Lengthy comments were devoted in the press here this morning to the Royal visit to Paris, and to Franco-British friendship.
"The friendship between the two countries developed out of an attachment to the same democratic ideals making possible a collaboration to the same ends" the "Daily Telegraph" stated. "The very nature of the mutual understanding forbids the exclusion' of other friendships gor it desires to find a way to peace and economic well-being for all nations.
"The visit marks the celebration of a century and a quarter of, peace between the two countries" the "Daily Express" declared.—"During that time relations have steadily improved and the understanding has been deepened. It is a sort of friendship that endures through the ages.
An interesting note appeared in the "Daily Herald" this morning written by the Paris correspondent of the paper who was standing on top of the Are de Triomphe during yesterday's procession.
"The correspondent of an American broadcasting company who was describing the procession for American listeners turned to me and said "Who could do justice to such a sight? Only a poet whose words would flow in one long river of beauty'. "—Havas
