Benlomond and the Pipes

Benlomond (FIN) accompanied by the "Pipe" being played in the Public Stand, started off from the 1% mile post, but evidently did not want to get away from the highland tunes, for he took 462, to do the t quarter but finished up better with his last quarter in 32.1 Sir George (JPH) did his mile in 2.28.2, last quarter 31.1.

Many put their griffins out on the grass track for a canter, which enabled those at the rails to get a good view of them.

I saw none doing fast time but many moved well, and whilst there may not be the usual quantity entered for the May spring meeting, I think it is pretty certain that some of them will prove to be ponies of a high class.
