Changes Hands

Len Harvey Stages Great Finish to Outpoint Jock McAvoy in London

London, Apr. 8.

The Bvitish light heavyweight title changed hands at the Harringay Stadium last night when Len Harvey, one time heavyweight champion of Great Britain and the British Empire, outpointed the holder, Jock McAvoy, in a 15-round bout.

Giving one of the greatest- displays in his long ring career, Harvey, at the age of 30, showed himself the complete boxer and a past master in the finer points. It was a triumph for superior ring generalship.

There were times, especially in the opening rounds, when he had to summon all his experience to stave off the fast and hard-hitting McAvoy, who was intent on wearing down his older opponent.
