"The Prime Minister arrived from Scotland at 7.20 a.m. and immediately proceeded by car to No. 10.
Considerable significance is taken in the fact Sir John Simon, also took part, arriving'in London this morning. The Chancellor of the Exchequer played a prominent part in the recent Cabinet discussions and was entrusted with expressing the Government's views in his recent Lanark address.
Well-informed circles here expect a Cabinet meeting to be held within the next few days.
All the members of the Cabinet have remained near London and can be summoned at short notice.
It is also authoritatively understood that Lord Halifax will remain in London for a few more days and will probably give up his intention of attending the forthcoming session of the Council of the League of Nations as'his presence here is required owing to the gravity of the international situation.
This mornings meeting ended at 1.30 p.m. and it was later learnt that Sir Robert Vansittart, Chief Diplomatic Adviser to His Majesty's Government, also attended.
Lord Halifax and Sir John Simon later were Mr. Chamberlain's guests at luncheon.
