Confidential Information

One Embassy received confidential information reporting that Chancellor Adolf Hitler of Germany had virtually completed plans to seize Danzig through an internal coup instead of by actual German military penetration across the Polish Corridor.

The influx of German troops into Danzig is understood to comprise mainly Army officers and non-commissioned officers whose task it would be to command the Danzig Volunteer Free Corps and Danzig irregulars.

Agence Radio published an inspired summary of Danzig reports yesterday which it was declared that German troops have been penetrating Danzig camouflaged as tourists or sporting groups, but insists they are really intended to command Nazi forces in Danzig.
