Cornhuskers Beaten

It was Ohio State's second win of the season, Coach Francis Schmidt's boys having dealt out a 6-0 defeat to Indiana last week In the mid-west, mighty Nebraska bowed to an unheralded Iowa State College aggregation, 8-7. The Cornhuskers, representatives of the Big Six, tossed a an apparent 7-6 win when the Iowans added a safety to their six points and then managed to stave off the Nebraska power drives. The Cornhusker's 16-6 defeat by Minnesota last week apparently had softened up the boys from Lincoln.

On the Pacific Coast, sports experts gasped when the University of California at Los Angeles ripped the hide off a highly-touted Husky from Washington, 13-0. Washington, conference champions two years ago and favoured to go to the Rose Bowl again, completely collapsed before a brilliant Bruin attack. It was the second upset of the season for Coach Jimmy Phelan's boys, Idaho having eked out a 12-12 last week at Seattle.
