Long rallies featured the final. Mrs. Fletcher was by far the steadiest player and she maintained her form throughout the contest. Mrs. Krenov drove very hard but driving was not good tactics in the doubles game, especially women's. The first set was stretched to 16 games. Mrs. Bryan proved to be useful in short exchanges and quite often outplaced hi opponents.
In the second set Mrs. Bryan became erratic and lost a number of valuable points at crucial moments. The four players served well but after 4-all Mrs. Krenov and Miss Holwtü- managed to reel off two games in^successive order and tied the score at 1-all.
The interval proved disastrous to the Krenov-Holwill combination. Mrs. Fletcher kept on playing a sound game and the coolness with which she dealt with the situation enabled Mrs. Bryan to return to her normal form. Working industriously, they gradually tightened up and swept of to victory by 6-1 in the deciding set.
