Electricity output in the United States during the week ended December 3 were placed at 2,286,000,000 2 kilowatt hours, recording to the weekly report issued today by the Edison Electric Institute. shows a gain of 62 per cent. over the corresponding period of last year, when the output totalled 2,153,- 000,000 kilowatt hours.
Production during the previous week amounted to 2,184,000,000 kilowatt hours, representing an increase of 5.7 per cent. over the same week in 1937,—Reuter.
Premier to Make Appeal On Mobilization Plans Tokyo, Dec. 7, The people of Japan will be invited by the Premier, Prince Ayamaro Konoye, to join the proposed national mobilization organization, soon to come into being, through a statement to the press to be made as soon as preparations to launch the new body are completed, it learned here today.
Detailed plans for the personnel and the operation of the new government agency which will be aimed at marshalling all resources of the nation to assist in the present campaign in China, were mapped out at a series of conferences attended by eight leading Ministers—Domei.
