Appeal by Consul-General

Sir Herbert Phillips, H.M. Consul-

General in Shanghai, took the opportunity in his address to call for greater support from the British Community for providing educational facilities for British children in the Far Fast.

"In my opinion, Sir Herbert declared, "more interest in and support for the cause of providing sound educational facilities for British boys and girls is required in our Community and I trust that the parents of this School will unite in persuading the Chamber of Commerce, the China Association and the British Residents Association to continue to keep this question in the forefront of their programme for the development of British interests, even though these organizations may be occupied with larger issues. For myself, I can assure you as Consul-General of my keen desire to assist in every possible way and I would be prepared at any time to make a full report to His Majesty's Government in order to arouse sympathy and interest at home.
