Tientsin, Dec. 22.
Moving to curb the alleged smuggling of arms, gold and silver specie, the "Provisional Government" will soon open a Customs Office branch within the former German Concession, known as the First Special Administrative District, officials announced today.
With the Custom House located within the French Concession, authorities here allege that considerable quantities of arms and ammunition as well as gold and silver have been shipped by anti-Japanese elements.
Chinese and Japanese authorities are, meanwhile, continuing a close watch on Chinese crossing into the British and French Concessions here.
