As this race is confined to winners of this season, he is at present ineligible to start in it, and the same applies to both Felixstowe and Roehampton who are also entered. However, the first two days racing may see all three qualifying to start in this Champion event, and so add -|to the interest with which the race is today being viewed by all followers et the local sport of pony racing.
This New Year Meeting keeps the interest alive in the early morning training, about which I may have something to report after seeing tomorrow's training gallops.
Last Wednesday, Merrylight, White Parade, Cordon Rouge and Magic Circle all did good training gallops, so they can sll be expected to weigh out as fit ponies at the meeting. Night Express and others have their last Saturday's successes to speak for them as to condition.
