Bomb outrages—(1) On May 7, a bomb of the potato masher' type exploded on a piece of vacant ground behind the rear wall of the Hua Kwang Middle School on Avenue Road, injuring three Chinese pedes-irians, one of whom, a female, succumbed to her injuries.
(2) On May 10, a bomb of the potato masher' type exploded "on Kwangse Road causing injuries to 7 male Chinese, (3y On the same date a bomb was thrown through a window on the ground floor of the Central Savings Society Building but failed to explode.
(4) On May 21, a bomb of the potato masher' type was thrown at and exploded in front of the office of the Chinese language newspaper "Morning Leader" and "News Digest" at 130 Ningpo Road, causing slight injuries to a C.P.C. and three pedestrians.
There were nine cases of simple abduction; an increase of one over the figure for the previous month, and the same figure as for the corresponding period of last year, There were 52 reports of armed robbery, a decrease of one as compared with April and an increase of 36 over the figure for the corresponding month of last year.

The number of burglaries reported was 28, three more than in April.
