John C. Ferguson at her residence in Peiping on October 6, is deeply mourned by the international circle of China. A loyal companion, Mrs. Ferguson had ably assisted Dr. John C. Ferguson in educating the Chinese youth for no less than 40 years. Among the educational and cultural institutions to which Dr. Ferguson has contributed' his invaluable service, the most outstanding are the University of Nanking and Nanyang College, now the Chiao-tung University. Moreover, Mrs. Ferguson is justly praised by the Chinese people for her benevolent nature and philanthropic work.
To keep fresh her memory and to show their appreciation for her achievements, a movement is being launched by such notables as Dr. Chang Yuan-chi, Mr. Tang Wen-che. Dr. J. Usang Ly and P. J. Wang for raising a scholarship endowment from all friends and from those who are interested in the educational work of "I have information, which I hope to bring out later in committee hearings, that Soviet Russia alone has 10000 spies and agents in this country," Mr. Dies said. "There are more than 300 Nazi, Italian Fascist and Communist groups controlled from Europe operating in this country.
"These groups, which are not subject to accounting, are collecting millions of dollars in the United States."
Army and Navy officials likewise indicated satisfaction with President Roosevelt's plans.—United Press.
