Berlin, Oct. 21.
Germany will use the tripartite treaty signed by France, Britain and Turkey this week as a basis for tightening her bonds with Italy, weliinformed circles believed yesterday.
An authoritative Government spokesman maintained that Turkey's "desertion from the ranks of neutrals" by the alliance with the Western Powers, menaces Italian interests in the Mediterranean Sea. Some German political quarters believed that.|a joint German-italian-Soviet de-deration' on Turkish developments
spired comment sharply takes be forthcoming soon.
Turkey to task for "abandoning neutrality" and warned that Poland's fate should have been a warning of how effective British assistance would be.
'A spokesman for the Wilhelmstrasse said "the triumphal cry of the Allies at the signing of the pact with Turkey indicates they do not consider the pact a means of securing peace in the Mediterranean, but as a possibility of increasing the Allies' war potentialities."
The "Berliner Lokalanzeiger," suggested that England was seeking to use Turkey as a "bridge" to Russian friendship. "It is as simple as ABC that the present British leaders are still speculating on the benevolence of Moscow, perhaps with the hope of attaining the promised land by a detour through Ankara. Turkey's decision to bind herself to the policy of the Western Powers is diametrically contradictory to the policy of strict neutrality of the great statesman Kemal Ataturk, and therewith to the vital interests, of the Turkish "people."
The "Lokalanzeiger" was representative of the comment in all the Berlin morning papers yesterday.
