RAF. Craft Fly

Over Berlin — West Front Ambushes Intensified; German Efforts Frustrated

London, Oct, 25.

The Royal Air Force has carried out extensive reconnaissance flights during the past 24 hours, and RAF. planes were over Berlin, Magdeburg and Hamburg during the night, says the Ministry of Information.

The broadcast made in Danzig last night by Herr Joachim von Ribbenflop, the German Foreign Minister, has set military observers speculating anew on the possibility of a German offensive.

Despite rain, which appears likely to continue, flooded rivers and waterlogged ground, an offensive is considered still feasible. It is observed that the Nazis are highly-strung, imtient and confident, and that the German people are unaccustomed to hesitancy by Herr Hitler. The opinion lis also expressed that German generals cannot keep the vast masses of men now gathered at the Siegfried Line indefinitely concentrated in so small a space. They must, it is said, either fight or withdraw.

French experts say the Germans are convinced that they can batter the Meginot Line to pieces. This belief, however, appears sufficiently. answered by the example of the much less strongly constructed Fort Douamont in the last war. M. Charles Morice, writing in the "Petit Parisien," says that the British are'engaging German machines with marvelous new fighter planes, far superior to Messerschmidt planes.—Reuter,
