Possible Moscow. Oct. 26, Japan's new Ambassador to Russia, General Yoshitsugu Tatekawa. wa received by the Soviet Foreign Commissar, M, Vyacheslav Molotov, it was reported today.
The interview although a formal. ity naturally extended new envoys on their arrival, was believed to be a preliminary to Gen. Tatekawa's reception by M. Josef Stalin.
Gen, Tatekawa's activities are being closely watched because of reports that a non-aggression pact betwen Japan and Russia is in offing.
M. Stalin's reception of the new Japanese Ambassador would be an extremely significant event in itself; because the master of Russia has not received a Japanese diplomat since 1929.
Diplomatic observers both in Moscow and Tokyo recently have been predicting early conclusion of a non-aggression pact between the two nations—United Press.
