Few men have lived more strenuous lives than did our Lord Jesus during the years of His earthly ministry, and we shall best know Him and His will as we follow His example. There is a legendary word of Jesus which is in accord with His teaching and example. It has been called the Gospel of Labour. It runs; "Hew the wood and ye shall find me, lift the rock and there am L" Certainly he taught that true greatness consisted not in being served, but in service, and himself set san example by being the servant of all. One recalls that vivid lesson he taught them when he washed their feet in the back over the past day. And continue in it; so add day to day that when we come to the, end of life's road and are about to lay down our burdens, we can say, as he did in a later verse in this Epistle, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course. I have kept the faith." (2 Tim. 47).
