Tokyo, Feb. 17.
Japanese authorities yesterday released the crew of a Soviet 20-ton fishing boat, which had violated the fishing law by entering the closed Japanese port of Oki Island on November 23 last year.
The skipper of the fishing craft was fined Y.1,000 by the local court on January 10. The Soviet Embassy paid the fine for the skipper on the condition that the fishing boat be sold and the proceeds be remitted to the Soviet Embassy. The crew of the vessel left Tsuruga immediately by ferry-boat for Vladivostok.—Domei.
