Zinnias in Copper Bowls

Release from convention has made table flowers more interesting. The inevitable damask of yore was incline ed to have a deadening effect on the imagination and stultified one's "best lits of fancy. In certain rooms, for certain occasions, the fine gleaming damask can look beautiful, and one gladly plans the flowers to suit its particular qualities of severity and formality. It was being harnessed to it, day in, day out, so to speak, Shat was limiting. Nowadays it is a pleasure sometimes to plan a decoration in keeping with its austerity, because one comes to it afresh. It is not an invariable every-day problem.
