With Chamberlain for Peace

Berlin, Sept. 24.

Berlin newspapers today contrasted peace efforts by Herr Hitler and Mr. Chamberlain with the general mobilization order issued yesterday by the Czech Government.

"Prague says 'With Stalin for the "Boersen Zeitung" commented. "We say 'With Chamberlain for Peace.' We maintain moderation and self-control. We have offered heavy sacrifices for peace while the hirelings of Messrs. Benes and Sirovy have tortured and murdered the Sudeten Germans.

"We will wait yet a short time to see whether the Prague Government will at last recognize the facts or whether it has pledged itself to take orders from Stalin in Moscow. The question of guilt and responsibility has been settled."

The "Berliner Tageblatt" said that responsible Czech leaders "must chose once again for the last time and one may hope that this time the Bolshevist influence will not be stronger than the voice of reason. The choice is between a peaceful solution and self-destruction. This peaceful solution includes, of course, not only the cession of territory. inhabited by Sudeten Germans, but further evolution toward granting self-determination to Germans, Poles and Hungarians."—United Press.
