Government officials have been hard at work s daring phrase, "The ence of Autocracy." It was felt to be too good te miss but, at the same time, under the imperative necessity of being translated into democratic English.
The result of their labours is as follows:
"The attitude of mind which may or may not be encountered in other ce whose niries form of government is peculiarly own, a ours is ours, but which, in any case, constitute: no insuperable bar to a full, frank and free discussion of the possibility of bending all paths to a common ideal which, given good will, confidence, faith in human nature, should be indistinguishable from a lasting and honourable peace."
This approved phrase may now be hired out by Government speakers, at the usual rates, from the Jabber and Jam department of the Bolonial Office.
Text read from the printed page and cleaned; old type leaves the occasional error.
