Crisis Before Great Britain

Lord Lloyd Warns Against A "Miscalculation"

London, Mar. 18, Britain is facing a crisis paralleled only by the darkest days of the Great War, writes Lord Lloyd, well-known student of international politics, in the "Evening Standard."

Perhaps it is more exact to compare the position with that when the great Napoleon had defeated coalition after coalition of continental Powers, and when the British Empire stood alone as the one obstacle between a world dictator and a world domination, he adds.

The recent events have shown that the British Empire has a responsibility no less today than it was then. To mistake for "decadence" the fundamental good nature of the British people is an old fallacy, according to Lerd Lloyd.

It is one whereon authorization systems of the past have counted, and have broken themselves on that miscalculation, he concludes.—Reuter,
