Soul's Immortality

It is well to call attention at this point to the fact that we disregard the attempts of physical science to prove the soul's immortality. Indeed, as we have said, many scientists deny immortality because their science cannot prove it in the laboratory. Others, calling on the mysterious phenomena of spiritism, will bring these forward as the required scientific evidence of the survival of the soul, when actually they prove no such thing conclusively. The tendency of most modern scientists, however, is like Professor Haldane to claim that personal immortality has not yet been disproved by science, but that no valid evidence can be adduced for it. Our position is that the aid of science is not necessary for a satisfactory proof, and furthermore, that no evidence of science will ever disprove the soul's immortality. For if the soul is a spiritual substance it is ipso facto outside the field of physical science which can measure, weigh and test on that which is material.

But let us see what our reason legitimately tells us about the importance of living forever. There are a number of arguments that can be brought forth, and their convergence should inspire conviction in anyone who has not some personal reasons to with his soul were not immortal. We know that an All-Wise and All-Just Creator has imposed His moral law en mankind; experience shows it is written in the very heart of humanity.
