Sampan Finds Snug Berth on Bund

The usual typhoon story of the ship on the Bund was in evidence yesterday as a sampan was observed on the Bund foreshore, opposite the "North-China Daily News" office. How the craft got onto the Bund was a mystery. Certainly the waves had not been high enough to wash it ashore from the river, but nevertheless, it sat high and dry, well in on the Bund foreshore. Some individuals claim that the sampan had been lifted up by the wind and carried ashore, but this claim could not be substantiated.
