Broad Issues Insisted

Tokyo, July 12, Paving the way for a preliminary exchange of views between Mr. Hachiro Arita, Foreign Minister, and Sir Robert Craigie, British Ambassador, for a "wide-range" readjustment of Anglo-Japanese relations in East Asia, the Japanese Cabinet, in an extraordinary meeting tomorrow, will discuss the line of policy to be adopted by the Japanese delegates at the projected conversations over the Tientsin dispute, Domei learned today.

If approved, the policy will be submitted to the Throne for sanc tion, thereby clearing away all gb. stacles in Japanese. governmental procedure for an opening of the pourparlers.

Informed circles believed that a meeting between Mr, Arita and Sir Robert probably would occur this week-end, although the start of the Conversations may be delayed until late next week.

Importance was attached by local observers to the preliminary exchange of views between the Foreign Minister and the British envoy, many contending that the British attitude at these interviews would decide the fate of the subsequent conversations.
