Europeans Bombay, Feb. 15.
That an "era of half-bottle parties" is approaching, is the general verdict of Britons and Americans, who are ussing the prospects following the initial shock of the Bombay Government's decision to control the sale of intoxicants.
Although authoritative details are not yet available, ıt appears that the sale of spirits will become a Government monopoly.
Europeans will be able to buy what the Government considers just enough for their own consumption, but the ration has not yet been fixed. Liquor permits will be issued against payment of a standard fee. No Indians will be granted permits except on doctors' orders.—Reuter.
