The National Boxing Association, which controls boxing in nearly al the states will refuse to recognize the bout between Garcia and Lee as a championship affair since it does not hold that Garcia is the champion.
Al Hostak is the world champion, s far as the N.B.A. is concerned. The N.B.A,, however, has announced that it would recognize a bout between Garcia and Hostak as a world title affair.
Garcia gained recognition as world champion from the New York group because of his T.K.O. victory over Freddie Apostoli in New York on October 2. Apostoli had been the champion prior to the fight, according to the New York boxing rankings.
"The appearance of Garcia in Manila and the fact that his bout against Lee will be billed as a world championship fight have resulted in tremendous interest in the Philippines.
