Removal of the maximum price for British tin could only be considered when market conditions became more normal, declared Mr. Edward Leslie Burgin, Minister of Supply, in the House of Commons today.
This was in reply to a question which drew, attention to the danger to. the tin smelting industry due to the order which fixes prices substantially below American prices.
Mr. Burgin pointed out that the American spot price had already fallen a long way from its highest level.
