Consequently larger budgets will be necessary to film them on the proper scale. It musn't be overlooked that the search for new talent never seems to end out here, and I think 1939 will find more concentration than ever on the part of all producers to bring fresh Personalities to screen audiences."
Darryl F. Zanuck, 20th Century-Fox: "I see for 1989 an increase in the quality and quantity of biogra-Dhical dramas—not necessarily those with foreign backgrounds, but more based on American characters immortalized by history. Also we'll see increased pressure toward the development of new stars and directorial talent. Productions of the spectacular type will be stepped up. too. After the first of the year a number of these big outdoor dramas Will be released and, unless I miss my guess, the public is going to favour them in no uncertain terms.
