Behind the Screen

I AM always interested in film actresses who devote their leisure to "riding, swimming dancing and reading": but my favourite is she whose hobby is "preparing dainty little meals for her friend, writes a correspondent, I can see her swinging glamorously into her dainty kitchen, after a party, to prepare an omelette surprise, and some "fragrant" coffee.

She breaks an egg and a chicken prances out She recoils in some concern, slips, and collapses into the flour bin which has been left pen. As she falls she clutches at a dainty cupboard which topples over raining food on the floor, and upsets a large jar of treacle on a shelf ever the bin.

She is liz drowned in treacle when her lends enter ud say, "Goodness, whatever is the matter?" She replies, laughingly. "I guess I got mixed up in a slapstick!

But a few deft dabs with a dainty powder-puff put everything right, and they all go out to a restaurant.
