Demand for Increase of $400,000,000 Considered Washington, Apr. 13.

Declaring that dictator nations had blocked the success of the Administration's trade pact programme, Mr. Henry A. Wallace, the Secretary of Agriculture, in a statement made in Washington today, said that he had urged Congress to back Government subsidies for wheat and cotton exports.

The Senate Appropriations Sub-Committee, he said, was considering demands for an increase of $400,000,- 000 "to bolster up" the farm programme. Extra funds, Mr. Wallace added, were needed to maintain American participation in world markets and to keep cotton out of Federal Loan.—Reuter.
