Japan's Collapse Predicted

U.S. Urged to Cease Flow Of War Material; Conflict May Last Three Years Washington, Jan. 12.

Senator Lewis Schwellenbach, De-morat of Washington, told. the Women's National Democratic Club here last night that when the American Trade pact with Japan expires this month, the United States can rectify Japan's present violation of the Nine Power Treaty by imposing an embargo against Japan.

The United States, he said, can cease furnishing Japan with war supplies, "without which Japan's war in China would have collapsed many months ago."

"After January 26," he said, "the opportunity will come to wash our hands of the stain of our violation of the Nine Power Treaty. If we are really inspired by good faith, we can do no less than to cease participating in the Sino-Japanese War."—United Press.
